Maxis 3G.. a new vision *spits*

Today was an amazing day, technically it was yesterday, i quit my current job, that was the last day. So i was getting ready to head home after burning my boss files and all, time was approx 1600LT. I was on the road heading back home and i received a sms from Makcik Maxis, it went something like this : -

FREE 3G SIM upgrade when you show your 3G phone @ Maxis centers in Klang Valley & Pakistan Penang..bla bla bla bla *cough*

I went o.O, just because i was checking about this huge hoo haa's on 3G Friday last week in KL, and they said, pre paid users have a damage fee of RM25 to get the SIM card replaced and for the initial settings thingy. This sms tells me something else. Im not a huge fan of this whole internet thingy through mobile, there are a few reasons :-

i) Its a freaking phone, so the screen is like stupid small, if you were to watch EPL, forget about details like...the ball, its oblivious.
ii) Speed - first thing that comes into concern when i think about the net is the speed, 3G, WAP, GPRS, they crawl like fuckin maggots.
iii) Cost - Its slow, and annoying, and its stupid expensive, defeats the purpose, really.

But, that did not stop me, i was really being curious, whats this shit is all about you see, and the good news is its FREE, never say no to FREE stuff, let it be warm catjuice, as long as its FREE, its a yes. And i happen to use a 3G phone myself, i didnt get it because its 3G, but it was cheap and i got of a bastard friend. It's a Sony Ericsson Z800, ugly? yes, but i love it. :)

So i went to the Makcik Maxis Service Center in USJ10, Subang Jaya to get this free thingy sorted, i was waiting for my turn to be entertained by the Customer Service Rep, Consultant, Prick, whatever. One of the person there was a smoking hot malay chick, was hoping that i could go to her, but nah, i got sent to a chinese chicken haired dude instead, nevermind, i want the free stuff, so that wasnt a issue at all. Maybe it was, abit. It took them about 30 minutes all together. Finally it was done!

Here comes the testing part, i couldnt test it at first because i was lacking on 2 important element :-

1) Battery - was running low like a midget
2) Credit - *shy* hehe.

I reloaded on the way home and charged the phone. I got my hands on this 3 fuckin G thingy finally, and oh i was so disappointed. I tried watching CNN, it connected and the streaming video started, and i saw Saddam,then the video lagged and died. Strike one!

Tried connecting again after a couple of hours, it wasnt going thru, it says "Try again later" Like fuck yeah, not that im gonna sit and weep over it. Strike two!

Tried again, connected, i was being a cute kid and was trying to get thru the Cartoon Network channel, connected! yaay! They were playing cow & chicken, i saw the cow for about 30 seconds, and showed my pops what 3G is all about, and it died. Strike...nevermind. I give up.

I read an article somewhere, 3G which merely means 3rd Generation connectivity is apparently in the intial stage of establishment in the Europe itself, so people, even if you have a 3G or if youre planning to get one, i suggest you invest the money on something else, upgrade your machine or get a dog for fucks sake.
